Conditions of Reservations, Payments and Cancellations

 

Reservations                                                    

The reservation request must be sent through the Reservation Form available on the site, with all local, duly completed.

The Casa de Coura inform by e-mail, availability and all accommodation and reservation. Any further clarification may also be requested via mail or phone the number listed on the site, in Contacts.

 

Payments

The reservation is only considered definitive after the first payment (25% of total stay) as a signal to be carried out on time and under conditions that Casa de Coura inform. If such transfer is not made, the provisional booking is void and has no effect.

The remaining amount (75%) must be paid within 30 days before the date of stay. If such transfer is not made, the reservation will be canceled, not being repaid the amounts already paid.

If the stay is to take place 30 days or less, the filing date of booking, the full amount must be paid on confirmation of availability by the House of Coura.

The Casa de Coura confirm in writing the payment (by email), to present at check-in and the amount of the deposit as security for any damages or other expenses borne by the customer.

The Casa de Coura reserves the right to cancel any reservation for which payment has not been made under the above conditions.

Expenses or other mini-bar, made during our stay at Casa de Coura, shall be paid at check-out.

 

Cancellation of booking

Before the start of the stay

Cancellation of reservation must be notified in writing (e-mail or fax) 45 days before the start of stay. Proceed will return the first payment after deduction of any costs associated (eg bank transfer fees, registered mail, etc..).

Cancellations at less than 45 days, beginning on the date of stay, mean total loss of signal.

The cancellation of a booking after full payment and the beginning of the stay is to take place 30 days or less will incur cancellation charges:

·         Between 30 and 21 days before the stay: 50% of the total

·         Between 20 and 8 days before the stay: 75% of the total

·         Less than 8 days before the stay: 100% of the total

Values to return, to deduct any associated expenses (eg bank transfer fees, registered mail, etc..).

After the start of the stay

By validating the reservation the client is committing to pay for their stay in their entirety, in accordance with the conditions mentioned in "Payments Policy".

The Casa de Coura undertakes to assess the reason for cancellation and agree with clients exceptional circumstances, depending on the length of stay, with, however, the following cancellation charges:

·         Total loss of signal

·         Payment of nights at the Casa de Coura, in proportion to the length of stay, plus 30%.

 

Other

The Casa de Coura allows pets as long as strictly confined to the outer housing and attachments. Any damage caused by them will be the sole responsibility of the customer.

As it is a much loved second home, the villa is comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. The sitting room is built on the upper level of the house to take advantage of the scenery, with doors opening onto an outdoor terrace with table and chairs ideal for outdoor dining.

The property enjoys complete independence and privacy.  The exterior is absolutely delightful with the extensive lawns being one of the features of this property. Besides the newly built swimming pool, there is a 5 a side football ground which can also be converted into a volleyball court for 4 people - a delight for children and adults.

Activities such as horseback riding in the mountains and water sports (including water rafting in the Minho river) are available in the area. Paredes de Coura town centre is only 4,000 metres away and offers a good selection of bars, restaurants and supermarkets, while the local shop is a mere 1,000 metres away from the property.

About a 20 minute drive is located the attractive roman town of Ponte de Lima, famous for its winding streets,  ancient monuments and excellent golf course. Europe's great wilderness - Peneda-Geres National Park - is also within easy reach

History

The origin of this cottage is intertwined with the history of the region. Trace simple and modest, traditional solid stone construction, uniquely located and facing west, is already part of the landscape for nearly a century.

Its simple construction and traditional keeps today, the result of careful restoration and strict respect for its origins and construction characteristics of the region.
